HUMAN PERFORMANCE
ANALYSIS LAB

GAIT performance

Test OVERVIEW

Moticon is the first of its kind. True wireless sensor insoles without compromises.  In order to analyze human gait patterns, highly accurate data must be collected at high frame rates. The state of the art is to deploy a carpet-like structure instrumented with pressure sensors, which allows for measuring position, orientation and pressure of each foot at each step.  Human gait analysis that improves athletic performance.

WHY

Why would you do this test?  A gait analysis measures how an athletes entire body moves and functions, also called biomechanics. This affects your mobility, flexibility, stability, and functional strength.  If you continue to use your body, such as while running with improper gait, you're likely to put more strain on multiple parts of your body.

RECOMMENDED

Who is this test recommended for?  Gait performance analysis is recommended for every athlete regardless of age or sport.

HOW OFTEN

How often should you repeat this test? Gait performance testing is recommended every 6-12 months or more frequently after recovering from an injury.

BODY PARTS

Which body parts are or can be tested?  Feet and gait are the body parts tested during this analysis.

RESULTS

What are the results of this test?  Gait is evaluated by having the athlete walk across the room under observation. Gross gait abnormalities will be identified. Next we ask the athlete to walk heel to toe across the room, then on their toes only, and finally on their heels only.  Striking differences in forces on the feet will be obvious and may help identify performance lags.

SUMMARY

What does this help to improve?  Gait testing is extremely important when recovering from an injury in order for an athlete to determine if their body has returned to normal after being injured.
