RESTING METABOLIC RATE
Resting metabolic rate testing shows how many calories your body burns at rest, giving you the data you need to plan a weight loss, weight gain, or weight maintenance plan designed to succeed. We will measure the calories your body needs to sustain function while at rest. The RMR test will let you know if your metabolism is slow, normal or fast. It also provides an accurate and scientifically-based calculation of the number of calories you burn each day.
Why would you do this test? Metabolic testing is the best and most accurate way to measure the amount of calories your body burns throughout the day. Knowing exactly what your body needs is the key to weight loss and leading a healthier lifestyle. Your metabolic rate is measured by the amount of oxygen your body consumes, the more oxygen the better for an athlete.
Who is this test recommended for? Resting metabolic rate testing is recommended for every athlete regardless of age or sport they play.
How often should you repeat this test? Resting metabolic rate testing is recommended every 4-6 months.
Which body parts are or can be tested? The resting metabolic rate tests the athletes engine to determine how much fuel it is consuming.
What are the results of this test? The results of the test will return a number between 500-9,000. The higher the number the more calories the athletes body burns.
What does this help to improve? Most serious athletes have no need for a metabolic rate test for weight loss purposes as they are typically associated. Rather they need to understand better how to fuel their bodies to replace those calories consumed daily.
