lung performance

Test OVERVIEW

Lung performance training and testing is being used by athletes at all levels all over the world  to improve their breathing, lung capacity, lung strength and anaerobic fitness.   Strong, healthy lungs are an essential part of any athletic performance and testing lets us know how they are performing.  If testing reveals your lungs are not as strong as they should be training them needs to become part of your daily regiment.

WHY

Why would you do this test?  Lung performance contributes a great deal in most athletes sports performance.  A few of these issues are medically related such as asthma, but most lung related performance issues are more reflective to the athletes training regiment.  If an athlete trains their body to push only up to the limit and not through the limit, their lungs will not be forced to work harder which will hold back performance improvements.

RECOMMENDED

Who is this test recommended for?  Lung performance becomes a larger part of athletic performance for older athletes and we recommend lung performance testing and training for athletes over 12 years old that participate in high endurance sports.

HOW OFTEN

How often should you repeat this test?  Lung performance testing is recommended every 6-12 month, while lung performance training is recommended daily.

BODY PARTS

Which body parts are or can be tested?  The test is strictly for lung performance.

RESULTS

What are the results of this test?  The results of lung performance testing will indicate if an athlete would benefit with regards to performance by lung performance training.

SUMMARY

What does this help to improve? Those deep breaths contribute to efficient air exchange in your lungs and efficient energy usage. lung performance training increases your accessible lung capacity so you can inhale more air at once, reduce breathing rate and preserve energy.
