EEG Brain scan test
Test OVERVIEW
In the same way an EKG enables you to capture vital heart data, WAVi's EEG brain scan technology measures brain function and performance improvements or declines over time in real time. The EEG reports are instant and we are able to compare up to four EEG sessions, providing a longitudinal view of patient progress by merging recurring assessments into one report. WAVi is used as a 10-20 position EEG device that measures the P300.

WHY
Why would you do this test? As an athlete having a baseline EEG brain scan will prove to be an extremely valuable resource if you need a level of certainty when returning from a head injury or concussion. Establishing a baseline EEG brain scan will provide athletes with a clear indication if it is safe to return to play after a head trauma. The scan offers information that is used for the diagnosis and treatment of brain concerns using EEG technology. Brain scans completed with the WAVi brain scan device visually demonstrate the changes in the brain's health after developing depression and anxiety or even after a head concussion.
RECOMMENDED
Who is this test recommended for? EEG Brain scans are recommended for every athlete regardless of age or sport in which they compete.

HOW OFTEN
How often should you repeat this test? An EEG brain scan is recommended every 12 months or after any head trauma or related concussions.
BODY PARTS
Which body parts are or can be tested? The brain is the only body part tested.
RESULTS
What are the results of this test? It offers information that is used for the diagnosis and treatment of brain concerns using EEG technology. These brain scans completed with the WAVi brain scan device visually demonstrate the changes in the brain's health after developing depression and anxiety or even after a head concussion.
SUMMARY
What does this help to improve? They say that sports are 80% mental and 20% physical so keeping track of brain health is essential. High contact sports such as football, soccer or rugby have a higher level of head trauma incidents which makes having baseline EEG brain scans even more important.
